Titan Formula

Description: Titan created by Dr. Young has played a huge factor in the Arkham games. It created the beginning and end for Asylum, made the plot of City, shown us the greatest boss battles in Origins, plus shaped the death of Joker and Batman in Knight. This compound mostly used by Bane, was used also on Joker, Poison Ivy, and various henchmen. What this basically does to the body is turn you into a monster, showing some bones, taking over your mind, and unleash the inner strength of you. Sounds a little fun to watch, but the worst part is that you can never turn back, once it’s in you it can never stop.

Question: Is there a real life component to Titan?

Answer: Cordyeps

How: After researching there seemed to be no way that this could be an actual compound in reality until I realized something? I did a report on the last of us (video game) in 6th grade where I talked about if that plot could happen in real life. Naughty Dog said that the chemical/ disease known as Cordyeps changed these humans. Normally, this chemical is found in the ant civilizations but after a failed experiment it was released into the USA. Now I took a look at the people who were exposed to Titan. Thanks to the Batman Wiki I got a full list of those who were exposed to this.

  • Joker

  • Batman (But resisted the change)

  • Poison Ivy

  • Terry and Tracy Trask

  • Bane

When you take a look at each of their titan transformations especially Joker’s due to is pale white skin, you could see some sort of fungus or tumor growing on the skin. The same thing happens on the runners (zombies) in the last of us and ants. You might be asking yourself why they aren’t frantically running around killing others. Well it all revolves around the backstory of each character. Poison Ivy is immune to any toxin or compound due to her plant infection. Bane has been addicted to venom and his TN-1 for years, so when he is injected he is merely affected by it.  Joker is totally insane, so he keeps his personality once injected.

Final Statement: If we are able to inject a person with cordyeps who was strong enough we might be able to unlock he inner Titan in them.
